Overview
This policy explains what information Oxpoll collects, why we collect it, and how it's used. Oxpoll is built around the idea that you shouldn't have to hand over your identity to have your opinion counted, so wherever possible, we collect the minimum needed to keep results accurate and the platform safe.
What We Collect
Depending on how you use Oxpoll, we may collect:
- Account information — if you create an account, your email and any profile details you choose to add.
- Voting activity — which polls you've voted on and the option you selected, used to prevent duplicate voting.
- Device and usage data — general technical signals (browser type, approximate region, timestamps) used for fraud and bot detection.
- Messages you send us — anything submitted through the Contact Us form, including your name, email, and message content.
How We Use It
We use the information above to operate Oxpoll: recording and verifying votes, generating result breakdowns by country and interest, preventing abuse, responding to support requests, and improving the reliability of the platform. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
Voting & Verification
To keep results trustworthy, each vote is checked against device and account signals before it's counted. This lets us block duplicate and bot voting without requiring every voter to create an account. Individual votes are not published or shared publicly — only aggregated, anonymized totals appear in poll results.
Sharing & Selling
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers. We may share limited information with service providers who help us run the platform (such as hosting and email delivery), under agreements that limit how they can use it, or when required by law.
Cookies
Oxpoll uses a small number of cookies for essential site functionality and basic analytics. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Data Retention
Voting activity used for fraud prevention is retained only as long as needed to keep that protection effective. Account information is kept until you delete your account or request removal. Messages sent through the Contact Us form are retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.
Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you don't have an account, most of your interaction with Oxpoll — voting and reading results — never required us to identify you in the first place.
